On the 17th of January, the u17 girls soccer team played a semi final against St Marys Nenagh. The match started at 12:00pm in Regional Utd in Limerick City.
The girls started with tip-off, and kept possession of the ball very well. The defense kept their line and defensive shape really well and were a very strong group of girls to get past.
The midfielders showed great technique, skill and were constantly looking for the ball. The communication was highly motivational from the midfielders, and everyone worked very well as a team together
The strikers remained high up the pitch, to give the girls in midfield great options and we created many chances to score .
All this great effort from all the players created a beautiful goal. Initially the ball came from Aideen Reidy in midfield where she crossed into the box where Donna Kenny and Shauna Quillivan were standing, Donna got a touch of the ball and got a great goal.
Overall, all the hard work paid off and the u17 girls soccer are now into a Munster final!!
Well done to coach Ellie Quinlivan on a terrific achievement.
